The journey began with one desk and two computers in the year 1994. Pushed and thrown by the tides, CEC learned how to mark its presence in the highly competitive market. Commencing its journey with small classified advertisements, Dipankar Dutta focused on the niche market of Guwahati’s sky-soaring need of computer education. CEC marked its path ever since the time when computer was a luxury in Assam. It was indeed difficult for Dutta to break the stereotype mindset of the local people who were scared of entering a computer lab with the fear of mishandling the gadget. Computer labs back then were no less than a temple where one needs to be dust proof and should remove the footwears outside. This fear acted as a constant hindrance amongst the people to motivate them to increase their footfalls in such labs. However, overcoming all the odds, with fits and starts, CEC managed to grow constantly. And today, it is an enormous family with over 2500 working members, over 5 lakhs qualified students, and with over 175 centres in the entire North East India. CEC has 25+ centres in Guwahati city alone that produces hundreds of computer and vocational literates every year successfully. As an icing to the cake CEC is the proud producer of over 3 lakhs government job holders and self employed youths in the region.
We believe in the moto of change management and never ending education process. We hope to grow more with the blessings of the people of the region.
